Biography
Makoto Suzuki was born in Kanagawa, Japan, in 1968.

He received the B.E. and M.E. degrees from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management, the School of Science and Engineering, Waseda University in 1991 and 1993, respectively.

From 1993 to 1997, he was with the R&D Center of Toshiba Corporation. He was engaged in the research and development of software using techniques of artificial intelligence.

From 1997 to 2001, he was a doctoral student in the School of Science and Engineering, Waseda University. In 1999, he was accepted as a Research Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). The period of this contract was two years. In addition, he has experience in teaching at two colleges. He was a part-time lecturer at Yokohama Commercial College from 1997 to 1999 and at Shonan Institute of Technology from 1998 to 2000. He received the D.E. degree from Waseda University in 2001.

Since 2001, he has been a lecturer at the Department of Information science, Shonan Institute of Technology.

Dr. Suzuki is a member of the IEEE, the Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ), the Society of Information Theory and its Applications (SITA) and the Japan Society for Management Information (JASMIN).
Research interests
My research field is intelligent information processing based on statistics and information theory. The examples are as follows.
